A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
REVISING PERMIT FEES AND A SCHEDULE
OF PENALTY FEES FOR ~T,ARM SYSTEMS
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION #89-110
WHEREAS, the City of Poway provides response to security,
fire and medical alarm systems; and
WHEREAS, rules, regulations, fees and charges for services
have previously been established for the operation of these
services; and
WHEREAS, it has been necessary to revise these
regulations, fees and charges from time to time; and
rules,
WHEREAS, the false alarm penalty fee was last revised by the
City Council of Poway on July 11, 1989; and
WHEREAS, an analysis of the current fee schedule indicates
that an increase in these rates is warranted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is necessary to
establish application processing fees for security alarm systems;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Poway as follows:
SECTION 1:
A forty dollar ($40.00) fee and an application
approved by the Director of Safety Services
shall be required for such permit. An alarm
permit shall be valid for an indefinite period
unless there is a change in alarm user or
address location of the ala£m system.
SECTION 2:
The following schedule of penalty fees for
false alarms determined pursuant to Chapter
9.44 of the Poway Municipal Code is hereby
adopted:
The first two (2) false alarms in any twelve (12) month
period shall be considered accidental, this is so the alarm
user can determine and/or repair the cause of such alarm and
no penalty fee charged. The user of the alarm system shall
be notified in writing by the Director of Safety Services
after the occurrence of the second false alarm, notifying
him/her that any further false alarms will result in penalty
assessments.

A Third (3rd) false alarm in any twelve (12) month period-
twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
A Fourth (4th) false alarm in any twelve (12) month period-
fifty dollars ($50.00).

A Fifth (5th) false alarm in any twelve (12) month period-
one-hundred dollars ($100.00).
All additional false alarms in any twelve (12) month period-
one-hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) each.

A penalty assessment of $25.00 shall be added to the unpaid
balance of any assessment required by this section not paid
within ninety (90) days of the billing date.
SECTION
Resolution #89-110 is hereby rescinded.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the city of Poway,
State of California this 25th day of January 1994.
