A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA REQUESTING ACCEPTANCE
OF GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME'S
NCCP PROGRAM TO ASSIST IN THE ACQUISITION OF 16 ACRES OF LAND
LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE BLUE SKY RANCH ECOLOGICAL RESERVE
APN: 277-140-11, 13 & 14; 278-320-10
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue to improve and expand the Blue
Sky Ranch Ecological Reserve; and
WHEREAS, certain monies are available on a competitive basis through the
State Department of Fish and Game's Natural Community Conservation Planning
Program which can be utilized to fund the proposed acquisition; and
WHEREAS, approval of the land acquisition project and acceptance of the grant
funds for this project must be authorized by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Poway hereby approves the proposal to pursue the acquisition of 16 acres of land
located adjacent to the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve and accepts the grant award of
$86,500 from the State Department of Fish and Game to assist in that purpose.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California this 15th day of April 1997.
