A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID
CITY ON JUNE 3, 1997 DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATrERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in the City of P. oway,
California, on Tuesday, June 3, 1997, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and
manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers
were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast
there at, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner
as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for holding of
elections in cities; and
WHEREAS, the Registrar of the County of San Diego canvassed the returns of said
election and has certified the results to this City Council, attached as "Exhibit A.'
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That there were twenty-four (24) voting precincts established for the
purpose of holding said election.
Section 2. That said special municipal election was held for the purpose of voti.'ng on
Proposition 'A' establishing the fire protection fee as a special tax in accordance with
Proposition 218.
Section 3. That the number of votes cast in said City (except absent voter ballots) was
3156. That the number of votes cast absentee was 1697. The total votes cast were 4853.
Section 4. That the number of votes for and against Proposition 'A' were as follows:

No 752
Section 5. The City Council does declare and determine that:
Proposition 'A' was adopted by the required 2/3 vote.

Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City,
a statement of the result of said election, showing:
1. The whole number of votes cast in the City;
2. The measure voted upon;
3. The number of votes given at each precinct for and against the measure;
4. The number of votes given in the City for and against the measure.
Section 7.
Resolution.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, California, at a
regular meeting thereof this 17th day of June, 1997. 1
