A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
REVOKING CREEKSlDE PLAZA SPECIFIC PLAN 89-04
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 317-820-01 to 09
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the Creekside
Plaza Specific Plan was adopted to provide the architectural and land use guidelines that
would regulate retail development in the Creekside Plaza Shopping Center; and
WHEREAS, The City Council initiated the Poway Road Specific Plan to provide a
detailed plan to guide and facilitate the economic and visual growth, development and
redevelopment along Poway Road; and
WHEREAS, The Creekside Plaza is located within the Poway Road Specific Plan
Town Center; and
WHEREAS, The land uses in Creekside Plaza are consistent with those adopted
with the Poway Road Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, The City Council in recognizing the need for clear development and
redevelopment guidelines resolves to eliminate the current duplication of Specific Plans by
revoking the Creekside Plaza Specific Plan 89-04; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of the Poway Municipal
Code (Zoning Development Code) provides for the adoption, amendment and repeal of
specific plans in accordance with section 65450, et. seq., of the California Government
Code (Article 8. Specific Plans); and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
does hereby deem necessary and desirable that the current Specific Plan 89-04 be
revoked and the Poway Road Specific Plan SP 95-01 be utilized as a future guide for
development and redevelopment in the Creekside Plaza Shopping Center.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of California,
this 24th day of June, 1997.
