A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A
REVISION TO THE CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE
SOUT~TERN CABLE TV
WI-IEREAS, Southwestern Cable TV possesses a franchise to construct and operate a
cable television system within the City of Poway which was approved by Resolution No. 89-
163; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has determined that it would be in
the public interest to approve the revision to the franchise upon the terms and conditions
contained in the franchise agreement on file in the City Clerk's office; and
WHEREAS, the act contained in this resolution is commenced pursuant to the authority
of the City Council contained in Chapter 5.60 of the Poway Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the franchise revision does not adversely affect the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby approve
the following revision to the Southwestern Cable TV Franchise:
System Improvements
An Audio Override Emergency Alert System capable of exclusively allowing the City
to interrupt audio programming on all channels and insert audio programming on all
channels, and on or before August 19, 2002, provide video programming on the
designated PEG channel from City Hall, as provided in the franchise and subject to the
conditions contained therein.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California at a regular meeting thereof this 19th day of August 1997.
