A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
GENERAL PLAN (GPA 98-01C)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may arise to
amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the Califomia Government Code describes the
procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has initiated a General Plan Amendment, GPA 98-01C,
for a modification of land use for fifteen parcels or portions thereof that range from two to
100 acres in size (APN 321-270-48; 322-010-39&40; 322-041-11;321-160-13; 277-140-
13&14; 278-320-10; 278-060-12,13&21; 278-201-1; 278-290-7; 278-061-1; 278-321-4)
located throughout the City, and;
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use from Rural Residential -
A (RR-A) or Rural Residential -B (RR-B) to Open Space-Resoume Management (OS-RM);
and:
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accordance
with the California Government code and the California Environmental Quality Act to
consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan Amendment 98-01C
will not have significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby issues a Negative
Declaration and;
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed General Plan amendment
would assist in the preservation of a unique biological habitat and topographic conditions
and would result in a land use designation that is compatible with the adjoining open space
and Iow density residential land uses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the
City of Poway General Plan Land Use Map of the Land Use Element for the above
described properties from Rural Residential-A (RR-A) or Rural Residential -B (RR-B) to
Open Space-Resource Management (OS-RM).
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 2nd day of June 1998.
