A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS AWARDED BY THE CALIFORNIA
INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD FOR REGIONAL
USED OIL/HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE GRANTS WITH THE CITIES
OF VISTA AND ENCINITAS RESPECTIVELY
WHEREAS, the City of Poway joined with the cities of Vista and Encinitas in the Fall of
1997 and Winter of 1998 respectively, to submit regional used oil and household
hazardous waste (HHW) grants to assist in the operation of its Public Household
Hazardous Waste Collection Facility (PHHWCF); and
WHEREAS, the City of Vista agreed to be the administrative agency for the used
oil grant and the City of Encinitas agreed to be the administrative agency for the HHW
grant; and
WHEREAS, both these grants were funded in the Spring of 1998; and
WHEREAS, having agreed to participate in the submission and support of these
grants, the City of Poway is entitled to receive $91,340 in used oil monies and $23,640 in
HHW monies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway,
California does hereby agree to accept these state monies through the respective
administrative agencies to implement and carry out the purposed specified in each grant
application.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at
its regular meeting thereof this 16th day of June, 1998.
