A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING A USE
POLICY AND A SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR THE POWAY
COMMUNITY LIBRARY MEETING ROOM AND PATIO
WHEREAS, the library meeting room is now available for use; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set forth a policy for use of the library meeting
room; and
WHEREAS, a fee for use of the library meeting room and patio must be
established to provide for the recovery of operation and maintenance costs associated
with said facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Poway does hereby resolve
as follows:
1. The Poway Community Library Meeting Room Use Policy, as set forth in
Attachment 1 is hereby adopted.
2. The Poway Community Library Meeting Room and Patio Schedule of
Fees as set forth in Attachment 2 is hereby adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California at a regular meeting thereof on the 30th day of June 1998.

Meeting Room and Patio
Use Policy
Applications for the use of the Poway Community Library Meeting Room or Patio may
be made in person at the Community Services Administrative office, 13202 Poway
Road. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
until 7:00 p.m. Tuesdays, except holidays.
Use Policy and Procedures
1. Acceptable use of the space would include the following: organization meetings,
educational seminars, training sessions, and library-related functions.
2. Alcohol will not be permitted in the meeting room or on the patio, unless under a
special permit as authorized by the Director of Community Services.
3. The Poway Community Library Meeting Room will be available for use during the
following hours or during such times as designated by the Director of Community
Services:
Monday through Thursday
Friday and Saturday
Sunday
9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
4. Applications for use will be accepted for specific dates and times. Time
requested must include all set up and cleanup time. Applications must be submitted at
least ten (10) business days in advance of the date requested. Nonresidents or
nonresident groups advance scheduling will be permitted only thirty (30) business days
in advance of the event.
5. Facility reservations will not be approved for any group or individual for multiple
uses on a continuing basis.
6. Use of the Poway Community Library Meeting Room and the patio shall conform
to all applicable sections of the Community Services Department Facility Use
Regulations.

Schedule of Fees
Fees are based on an hourly rate. An extra staffing fee of $15 per hour is required for
all uses other than regular hours. All facility fees are based on one time usage. In
Categories D, E, and F, there is a $25 cancellation fee if cancellation is less than
twenty-one (21) days in advance.
