A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
TO ALLOW A THIRD WALL SIGN FOR GEICO
SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT (SPA 84-01 "OO")

WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in accordance with Section 65450, et
seq. of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the proposal to amend the South
Poway Specific Plan to allow a third wall sign for GEICO; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a properly noticed hearing to accept public input
concerning the proposed change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby approves Specific Plan Amendment 84-01 "OO" as follows:
A third wall sign on the Danielson Street frontage of the GEICO building is approved. It is
appropriate given the size and location of the building, and the reasonableness of placing
the business name adjacent to the required street numbers on the front of the building.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 2nd day of February, 1999.
