A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
DETERMINING THAT THE
EXPENDITURE OF REDEVELOPMENT FUNDS OUTSIDE OF THE PROJECT AREA
FOR THE COMMERCIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM (#5901)
IS OF BENEFIT TO THE PAGUAY REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Poway Redevelopment Agency is authorized to carry out the
redevelopment of the Poway Redevelopment Project Area; and
WHEREAS, the Poway Redevelopment Agency has determined that the
Commercial Rehabilitation Program is necessary to improve the economic stability of the
business community; under the provisions of California Community Redevelopment Law
(Health and Safety Code, Section 33000 et. seq.) and pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan
for the Project which was adopted on December 13, 1983, by Ordinance No. 117 of the
City Council and as amended on June 15, 1993, by Ordinance No. 415 of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, the commercial properties along Poway Road are located both within
the project area and immediately outside of the redevelopment project area; and
WHEREAS, the successful revitalization of the commercial corridor along Poway
Road will require improvements to properties located both within the project are and
immediately outside of the redevelopment project area; and
WHEREAS, it will be of direct benefit to the redevelopment project area to assist in
the improvement of properties located outside, but adjacent to the redevelopment project
area; and
WHEREAS, assisting properties and businesses located outside, but adjacent to the
redevelopment project area is consistent with the Amended Redevelopment Plan and the
Poway Road Specific Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway
does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby determines that the expenditure of Redevelopment
Funds outside of the Redevelopment Project Area for the Commercial Rehabilitation
Program is of benefit to the Redevelopment Project Area.

The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of Poway,
California, at a regular meeting thereof this 27th day of April, 1999.
