A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF POWAY
GENERAL PLAN (GPA 99-01A)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Bayani has initiated a General Plan Amendment, GPA 99-01A,
for a modification of land use on an 8.0-acre, 20 contiguous parcel site (APN 317-520-08-
14,16-21,28, 31,35, 37, 38, 40 & 41) located on the southwest comer of Pomerado Road
and Leona Lane; and
WHEREAS, the application proposes a change in land use from Residential Single
Family-3 to Residential Single Family-4; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway held a propedy noticed .public hearing in accordance
with .the California Government Code and the California Environmental Quality Act to
consider that request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed General Plan
Amendment would result in a land use designation that is compatible and consistent with
the existing lot sizes within the project area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proposed General Plan Amendment 99-01A
will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby issues a
Negative Declaration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
amend the City of Poway General Plan Land Use Map of the Land Use Element for the
above described property from Residential Single Family-3 to Residential Single Family-4.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 22nd day of June, 1999. ~
