A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
TO ALLOW ATHLETIC & HEALTH CLUBS AS A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
USE IN THE LIGHT INDUSTRIAL (LI) AREA
SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT (SPA 84-01PP)
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in accordance with Section 65450, et
seq. of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the proposal to amend the South
Poway Specific Plan to allow athletic and health clubs with a Conditional Use Permit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a propedy noticed hearing to accept public input
concerning the proposed change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Environmental Findings:
The City Council finds that a Negative Declaration will be issued (with no significant
adverse impacts anticipated) due to the addition of special requirements to the
project.
Section 2: City Council Decision:
The City Council hereby approves Specific Plan Amendment 84-01PP as follows:
The following uses shall be permitted where the symbol "P" appears, shall be
permitted subject to a Conditional Use Permit where the symbol "C" appears, shall
be permitted subject to a minor conditional use permit where the symbol "M"
appears, and shall be prohibited where the symbol "X" appears:

California, this 31st day of August, 1999.
