A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN
TO ALLOW ADDITIONAL OFFICE AND SIMILAR USES
IN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK (IP) AREA
SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT (SPA 84-01QQ)
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in accordance with Section 65450, et
seq. of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the proposal to amend the South
Poway Specific Plan to allow additional office and similar uses within the Industrial Park
Land Use Designation; and
WHEREAS, a traffic analysis has been prepared showing that an additional 202
acres of office uses could be accommodated and still be within the 1988 EIR forecasted
average daily traffic (ADT) volume of 134,262; and
WHEREAS, the specific plan amendment is proposed to consider amending the
South Poway Planned Community to allow additional office and similar uses in the
Industrial Park land use areas of the South Poway Business Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby initiates proposed Specific Plan Amendment (SPA 84-01QQ) in accordance with
the provisions of the Poway Zoning Development Code.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 30th day of November, 1999.
