A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE SOUTH POWAY SPECIFIC PLAN,
SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT (SPA 84-01 SS)
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation and adoption of specific plans in accordance with Section 65450, et
seq. of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020.C (Initiation) of the Zoning Development Code
provides that the City Council may initiate the preparation of, or amendment to, a specific
plan on property by resolution; and
WHEREAS, South Poway Specific Plan Amendment 84-01SS, requests the deletion
of 5.9 acres of South Poway (SP) Commercial land use from the former Wet 'n Wild
property located on both the east and west sides of the extension of Stowe Drive south
from the intersection of Scripps Poway Parkway, removal of 10.4 acres of Industrial Park
from the western approximately one-half of the same property, and the reconfiguration of
8.0 acres of existing Industrial Park (IP) land use within the eastern half of the property,
which was approved for development under TPM 99-07/DR 99-11; the relocation of 4.1
acres of SP Commercial to Lots 12, 13 and 14, of TM 97-01, located at the southeast
corner of Scripps Poway Parkway and Tech Center Drive; the allocation of 2.9 acres of
Light Industrial to the west side of the former water park site; the allocation of 3 acres of
Light Industrial to the east side of the former water park site; and the deletion from the
South Poway Specific Plan of the Gregg Street eastward extension beyond its present
terminus within TM 97-01.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby approves Specific Plan Amendment (SPA 84-01 SS) which amends the land use
plan of the South Poway Planned Community dated October 20, 1985, in accordance with
the provisions of the Poway Zoning Development Code, as shown on Exhibit A.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 8th day of February, 2000.
