A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
INITIATING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 00-01
AND SPECIFIC PLAN 00-01
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may
arise to amend the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code describes
the procedures for amending General Plans; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.46.020B of the Poway Municipal Code (Zoning Ordinance)
provides that a change in the boundaries of any zone or a change in regulations and
Section 17.47.020 provides that the preparation of a specific plan may be initiated by
resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment 00-01 consists of:
GPA 00-0lA. the redesignation of approximately 10.77 acres of an 18.26-acre split zoned
parcel from Residential Single Family-4 (RS-4) (3-4 du/net acre) to Commercial Office
(CO); and
WHEREAS, Specific Plan 00-01 consists of criteria to ensure compatibility of the
project with surrounding land uses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Poway
by adoption of this resolution, does hereby initiate General Plan Amendment 00-01 and
associated changes to the Zoning Code and zoning boundaries as identified above and
Specific Plan 00-01.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
California, this 14th day of March 2000.
