RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
CALTRANS FILE NUMBER 1 I-SD-0-PWY, STPLHG-5428(006)
WHEREAS, the City of Poway has been awarded $120,000 in Federal Aid
monies to replace approximately 4,000 traffic signs throughout the City that do
not meet reflectivity safety standards; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
oversee this project and has approved the City's plan to use City staff to perform
the Sign Replacement Program; and
WHEREAS, the City will enter into an agreement with the State of
California to carry out the sign replacement project and will be reimbursed for all
costs associated with the project, not to exceed $120,000;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California as follows:
Section 1. Appoint Jim Howell, Director of Public Works, as the agent of
the City of Poway to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents,
including but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, and payment
requests, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned
program.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California, at a regular meeting this 19th day of December, 2000.
