Res 01-032 RESOLUTION NO. 01-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, IN RECOGNITION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL DAY WHEREAS, the President of the United States and the Governor of the State of California have declared that a week in May be designated as Police Memorial Week in honor of officers who have died in the line of duty; and WHEREAS, a special ceremony will be held on May 9, 2001, at the Balboa Park Organ Pavilion in recognition of our fallen law enforcement officers in San Diego County; and WHEREAS, law enforcement officers deserve our respect, admiration, and gratitude for the contributions they make to ensure our safety and security. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway hereby proclaims May 9, 2001, Law Enforcement Memorial Day in the City of Poway and urge all citizens to remember the officers who gave their lives for our safety as well as those who continue to dedicate themselves to making the City of Poway and San Diego County a safer place to live, and hereby orders that all flags on public buildings within the City be flown at half-staff on May 9, 2001, in remembrance of fallen heroes.
