A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING
THE SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR RENTAL OF THE
POWAY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 95-049
WHEREAS, fees for the use of the Poway Center for the Performing Arts by third
parties, other than the City of Poway, an organization operating under a Programming
Agreement with the City of Poway, or the Poway Unified School District, have been
established to provide for the recovery of operational and maintenance cost associated
with said facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Poway does hereby resolve
as follows:
The usual and customary rental rate schedule of fees for third party uses
of the Poway Center for the Performing Arts as follows:
Category A: Private non-profit, not-for-profit, non-commercial and
governmental entities.
Rental Rate:

$ 725 (minimum 5 hour period)
$ 175 per hour (each additional hour)
$1,300 flat fee for a 12 hour period
Cate.qory B: Private for-profit, commercial and all other entities.
Rental Rate:

$1,100 (minimum 5 hour period)
$ 300 per hour (each additional hour)
$2,000 fiat fee for a 12 hour period
The City reserves the right, when in its sole opinion, the interests of the
community as a whole, as well as the established mission of the Poway
Center for the Performing Arts, are better served; to negotiate individual
rental agreements whose terms may vary from the rates established
herein. The City's Director of Community Services, or his/her designee
shall have the authority to enter into such Agreements.

The rental fees established herein shall include, the use of the Poway
Center for the Performing Arts facility according to the terms and
conditions of a Lease Agreement which shall be issued by the City of
Poway. The terms of said Agreement shall include, but not be limited to
the following:

The facility and its stage equipment on an "as is" basis.
The services of a stage manager who shall open and close
the facility and coordinate all other technical theatre staff
services to be provided to the Lessee on a fee for service
basis.
The services of the box office for advance ticket sales for a
period no longer than sixty (60) days prior to the
engagement and through thirty minutes following each
performance identified in the Lease Agreement.
The Performing Arts Manager shall determine, at his/her sole discretion,
the number of technical theatre personnel that are required to safely and
effectively execute rehearsals and the performance requirements of the
Lessee.
Such personnel shall be provided by the City and shall be billed to the
Lessee at the following rates:
Staff Service Fees
Theatre Technician:
$17.00 per hour for eight (8) hours per day
$25.00 per hour for each hour in excess of
eight (8) hours per day
