SUBJECT: Acceptance of Espola Road/Valle Verde Reconstruction (407-4328)
ABSTRACT:
Upon final inspection of the project, staff finds the project to be complete in
accordance with the standards and specifications of the contract. It is recommended
that the City Council approve acceptance of the project.
FISCAL IMPACT
The project was completed within the available budget. No additional funds are needed.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The project is categorically exempt under Section 15301 of the CEQA.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
None.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Formally accept the improvements.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file and record a Notice of Completion.
3. Authorize the release of the retention for the amount of $62,061.41 if
unencumbered, 40 days after filing the Notice of Completion.

Reconstruction (407-4328)
BACKGROUND
On August 2, 1994 the City Council awarded the contract for reconstruction of
Espola Road/Valle Verde to Superior Ready Mix. The amount of the contract was
$640,392.58.
FINDINGS
Due to three change orders and changes in the final quantities, the amount of
the contract was increased by $16,381.48 for a total contract amount of
$656,774.06.
FISCAL IMPACT

are needed.
