A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING PRESIDENT BUSH AND
EXPRESSING SYMPATHY FOR THE VICTIMS OF TERRORISM AS HE LEADS
AMERICA THROUGH THIS TIME OF CRISIS AND SORROW
WHEREAS, on Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked
America in a series of despicable acts of war; and
WHEREAS, many San Diego families are grieving the loss of loved ones killed or
still missing despite the ongoing brave and self-sacrificing efforts of rescue personnel
and volunteers; and
WHEREAS, it is vital that we maintain our National Resolve; that the American
spirit remains strong; and our Republic preserved; and
WHEREAS, it is in that spirit that the City of Poway joins fellow Americans and
public agencies within the Country in supporting the President of the United States,
George W. Bush, as he leads America through this time of crisis and sorrow; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway seeks to continue the support and outreach of fellow
Americans by encouraging City employees, local businesses, and service organizations
to donate to the Always Remember 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Poway
hereby supports President George W. Bush and expresses our sympathy for the victims
of terrorism as he leads America through this time of crisis and sorrow.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at
the regular meeting this 2nd day of October 2001.
