A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS
OF THE CITY, A MEASURE AMENDING THE
GENERAL PLAN TO ALLOW FIRE STATIONS
ON PROPERTY HAVING a NATURAL SLOPE
IN EXCESS OF TEN PERCENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has determined
pursuant to Ordinance No. 283 and Resolution No. 01-102 to submit a
General Plan Amendment to the qualified voters of the City of Poway for
approval at a Special Municipal Election to be held on March 5, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment would change slope criteria in rural
residential areas to permit fire stations on natural slopes of greater than ten
percent; and
WHEREAS, Proposition FF requires voter approval of any change in slope
criteria in a rural residential area which would permit increased intensity of use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF POWAY AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There shall be placed upon the ballot of the Special
Municipal Election of the City to be conducted March 5, 2002, the approval of
that resolution attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and by reference made a part
hereof.
Section 2. That on the ballot to be used at said Special Municipal
Election, in addition to any other matters required by law, and in addition to any
other matters specified in the resolution calling said election, there shall be
printed substantially the following question:
Shall the General Plan of the City of YES
Poway be amended to allow fire stations
on property having a natural slope in
excess of ten percent? NO
Section 3. That the measure submitted by this resolution shall be
designated on the ballot by a letter printed on the left margin or the square
containing the description of the measure, as provided in §10219 of the California
Elections Code.

PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED, by the City Council of the City of
Poway, California at a regular meeting thereof this 27th day of November, 2001.
