TO: FROM: DATE: SUBJECT: May 2, 1995 Community Swim Center Quarterly Report BACKGROUND At the September 6, 1994 City Council meeting, it was requested by the Council that staff provide quarterly reports on the use of the Poway Community Swim Center, The information requested included an evaluation of swim team use of the pool and a summary of the allocation of pool hours to the public and swim teams. The information provided is for the months of December, January, February, and March. FINDINGS During the Winter of 1995, five swim teams requested use of the swim center for practice, Staff worked with swim teams to provide private, early morning practices and practices during public times. Priority scheduling from the previous summer season was used as a basis for scheduling pool time. The system of having individual swimmers from each team sign daily attendance rosters to determine residency percentages was used during the summer season. Teams were required to maximize lanes with a minimum of three swimmers per lane for short course and five swimmers per lane for long course practices prior to requesting additional lanes.
