A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
INITIATING A SPECIFIC PLAN TO LIMIT THE USES PERMITTED IN THE SHOPPING
CENTER LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF POWAY ROAD AND
SILVERLAKE DRIVE
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation, and adoption of Specific Plans in accordance with Section 65450,
et seq. of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020.C (Initiation) of the Zoning Development Code
provides that the City Council may initiate the preparation of, or amendment to, a
Specific Plan on property by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, adopticn of a Specific Plan for the properties constituting the
shopping center at the northwest corner of Poway Road and Silveflake Drive to limit the
uses permitted thereon is in the public interest and should be considered in order to
protect the commercial viability of the entire center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Poway hereby initiates Specific Plan (SP 02-01 ) in accordance with the provisions of the
Poway Zoning Development Code.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, State of California, at a regular meeting this 26th day of March 2002.
