SUBJECT: Approval of the Purchase of lbree Replacement Lawn Mowers
ABSTRACT

life span and replacement is recommended. Staff evaluated the City's needs and developed specifications
for three ride-on lawn mowers.
Staff formally advertised the specifications and received one bid from California Turf, Inc. ofBrea,
California. It is recommended that the City Council approve the purchase of three Toro Groundmaster 300
Series ride-on lawn mowers for $54,152.70.

FISCAL IMPACT
The purchase amount is within budget.

SUBJECT: Approval of the Purchase of Three Replacement Lawn Mowers
BACKGROUND
The City has an inventory of five ride-on mowers to maintain 90 acres of recreational and sports turf
areas located in fourteen parks and public facilities, i.e., City Hall, etc. Three of the lawn mowers
have reached their useful life and, according to the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, have become
too costly to maintain and repair.
The mowers have been fully amortized and funding for their replacement is available through the
equipment replacement fund.
FINDINGS
Notice Inviting Sealed Bids for three ride-on lawn mowers were mailed and one bid was received
from California Turf, Inc. Brea, California, for $54,152,70. This bid met all specifications and was
within budget:
