SUBJECI': Award of Bid for Lake Poway Recreation Area Playground Equipment
ABSTRACT
The proposal would award the purchase and installation of new playground equipment for
the Lake Poway Park Play Area Renovation Project. The contract is recommended to be
awarded to Coast Recreation in the amount of $15,530. The playground equipment will be
installed within 10 working days from the time the equipment is delivered to the job
site.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW

FISCAL IMPACT
There are sufficient funds to complete the project.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
None.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council award the purchase and installation of
playground equipment at the Lake Poway Recreation Area to Coast Recreation in the
amount of $15,530.

SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Lake Poway Recreation Area Playground
Equipment
BACKGROUND
On August 22, 1995, bids were opened for the purchase and installation of
playground equipment for the Lake Poway Park Play Area Renovation Project
Phase II. The Engineer's Estimate was SI6,OOO.
Playground manufacturers representatives were required as part of their bid
proposal to provide a concept plan and base their bid on the following values:
play, use of space, accessibility, color, cost, compatibility, safety,
durability, warranty and service, and material usage. Manufacturers were
allowed to submit three proposal options each. A bid evaluation committee was
established to review the bid values and make a recommendation on the award of
bid.
FINDINGS
There were three bids received with a total of six options to select from
based on the bid criteria values. The bids were:

bid based on the criteria.
