Thomas, Director of Communit Services Greg Sundberg, Recreation Supervisor DATE: October 31, 1995 SUBJECT: Community Swim Center Quarterly Report - Spring 1995 BACKGROUND At the September 6, 1994 City Council meeting, the Council requested that staff provide quarterly reports on the use of the Poway Community Swim Center. The information requested included an evaluation of swim center use and a summary of the allocation of pool hours to the public and swim teams. The information provided is for the months of June, July, and August 1995. FINDINGS During the Summer of 1995, four swim teams requested the use of the swim center for practice. Staff worked with swim teams to provide public early morning practices and practices during non-impacted evening hours. The system of having swimmers from each team sign daily attendance rosters to determine reSidency percentages was used during the fall, winter, and spring season. Teams were required to maximize lanes with a minimum of three swimmers per lane for short course and five swimmers per lane for long course practices prior to requesting additional lanes. The following table summarizes the swim club use. ACTION: J 2 of 3 OCT 31 1995 ITEM 14 ' .
