ABSTRACI'
The fourteen year old sound system in the City Council Chambers is in need of repair
and staff has determined that the essential work can be done at a cost of $6,500.00.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
None required.
- FISCAL IMPACI'
The new equipment will cost approximately $6,500.00 and an appropriation from Account
No. 100-8912, General Fund Reserves is required.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
None
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council appropriate $6,500.00 from General Fund
Reserves for the necessary equipment to update the sound system in the City Council
Chambers

SUBJECT: Appropriation of Funds to Update City Council Chambers Sound
System
BACKGROUND
The sound system in the City Council Chambers is the original equipment
installed in 1981. City technical staff from the Performing Arts Center made
an inspection of the equipment and found the transformers powering the
overhead speakers and the exterior speaker have deteriorated beyond repair and
the existing amplification system needs to be replaced. The cost of equipment
is approximately $6,500 and the work can be done by City staff. Staff
recommends an appropriation of funds to purchase the equipment.

An appropriation of $6,500 from Accont 100-8912, General Fund Reserves, is
required.
