Res P-84-47RESOLUTION NO. P-84-47 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES TO REVIEW DISH ANTENNAS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway determines dish antennas to be an accessory structure in Residential, Commercial and Manufacturing Zones; WHEREAS, the City of Poway has prepared procedures which review the siting and size of satellite dish antennas; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Poway does resolve as follows: Dish Antennas may be installed, erected, and maintained within all Residential, Commercial and Manufacturing zones of the City, but only in accordance with the following provisions: ao The term "dish antenna," as used herein, means any system of wires, cables, amplifiers, reflecting discs, or similar devices used for the transmission or reception of electro-magnetic waves, which system is external to or attached to the exterior of any building. The height of a dish antenna shall be measured from the highest point of the finished grade adjacent to the structure if ground mounted or from the peak of the roof if roof mounted. C0 De Ail dish antennas shall be treated as accessory structures and shall meet the height and setback requirements of the respective residential, commercial and manufacturing zone. Dish antennas six (6) feet or greater in diameter will require a Minor Development Review Permit and shall be screened from the view of adjacent or across- the-street properties by fencing and/or landscaping, if ground mounted. Resolution No. P-84-47 Page 2 Dish antennas less than six (6) feet in diameter in Residential, Commercial and Manufacturing zones are permitted and do not require City approval; however, they must meet the height and setback requirements of their respective zones. Installation of some dish antennas will require a building permit for the foundation, and an electrical permit will be required for any power-driven dishes.
