Ord 576 ORDINANCE NO. 576
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
REPEALING POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 10.36.020
REGARDING A MID-BLOCK CROSSWALK ON MIDLAND ROAD
WHEREAS, a mid-block crosswalk was established by Ordinance No. 29 and
codified as Poway Municipal Code Section 10.36.020; and
WHEREAS, said crosswalk is located across Midland Road, the northerly line of
which is six hundred eighty feet south of the south line of Edgemoor Street; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Safety Committee recommends that said mid-block
crosswalk be relocated to the intersection of Midland Road and Edgemoor Street and
all-way stop controls be installed at that intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
1. Poway Municipal Code Section 10.36.020 is hereby repealed.
2. Repeal of Poway Municipal Code Section 10.36.020 shall not be effective
until the crosswalk markings are actually removed from the street by staff.
3. This Ordinance shall be codified.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30)
days after the date of this passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after
its passage, it shall be published once with the names and members voting for and
against the same in the Poway News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Poway.
Introduced and first read at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Poway held the 29th day of April, 2003, and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at a
regular meeting of said City Council held the 13th day of May, 2003, by the following roll
call vote:
