WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program 88-01 submitted by Borsa Architects
applicant, requests approval of a comprehensive sign program for the property
located on the south side of Poway Road known as Poway Country Plaza; and,
WHEREAS, on November 22, 1988, the City Council held a public hearing to
solicit comments from the public both pro and con, relative to this application.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1: E 1 ;:
The City Council finds that this project is categorically exempt under Class
11 of the California E Quality Act.
Section 2: Findin~ :
Plan
The proposed sign program is in compliance with the use and
rec of Section 17.40.010 of the Zoning Development Code in that the
proposed sign size, location, and design meet all applicable standards.
Section 3: Ciq
The City Council hereby approves C

Within 30 days of approval, the shall submit in writing that

Revised elevations of the Grease Monkey wall sign indicating a maximum
height of 20 feet rather than 20.5 feet shall be approved by the
Director of Planning
3. The comprehensive sign program for Poway Country Plaza is as follows:

1. The wall signs shall be located on the face of the buildings.
2. Varied letter logo colors are permitted, subject to owner and City

Letters shall be internally illuminated acrylic letters with Padre
Brown #151 - trim caps and returns.
4. The letter height of the minor tenants is 20 inches or less.
Freesta
The f sign shall, at the top band, state "Poway Country
Plaza" as the p feature and a maximum of two additional busi-
ness names may e added. Height shall be limited to eight feet
measured from t e avera§e finished grade.
Street addresses shall be predominately incorporated into the face of
the structure.
The freestanding si§n shall be located so as not to obstruct traffic
visibility and shall be located in a planted landscaped area at least
equal in square footage to sign area.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway, State of
