AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING SECTION 6621 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 29 OF THE CITY OF POWAY
CALIFORNIA, REGARDING MAXIMUM DENSITY COMPUTATIONS
IN THE PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT ZONE
WHEREAS' the City Council of the City of Poway held a duly advertised
public hearing on August 25, 1981 to solicit and con~ider comments both
pro and con relative to this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to bring the computation of dwelling
units for the Planned Residential Development zone into compliance with
Ordinance Number 42 amending Section 4115 of the Zoning Ordinance,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Poway does ORDAIN as
follows:
Section 1 Section 6621 of the San Diego County Zoning Ordinance
as ad°~'ted by Ordinance 29 is hereby amended to read as follows:
6621 MAXIMUM DENSITY.
The Density Regulations commencing at Section 4100 shall apply in a planned
development except as otherwise provided in this Section.
a. Computation of Residential Acreage in a Planned Development
Containing .Non~.~esid~ntial ~se Types... For the purpose of comput-
ing the maximum density allowable in a planned development
containing non-residential use types, the residential acreage of
the proposed development shall be determined as follows:
For those portions of the site where the residential develop-
ment (and its associated open space) are separate and
distinct from the non-residential development (and its assoc-
iated open space), the acreage to be used for residential
development (and its associated open space) shall be computed
in the same manner as provided in Section 4115.
For those portions of the site where the residential and
non-residential development are not separate and distinct
(e.g., they are in the same building or a closely associated
group of buildings), maximum residential density shall be

calculated ~ taking the percentage of floor area, ground
area and other factors that relate directly or indirectly to
the residential usage, as the base acre number, for
computation pursuant to Section 4115.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Poway, California
'hereby finds that this amendment will not cause significant
adverse impacts on the environment and issues a Negative
Declaration for this amendment.
Introduced and first read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Poway held the 25th day of August, 1981 and thereafter PASSED
AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council held the 1st day of
September, 1981 by the following roll call vote:
