A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING THE RAW WATER ADMINISTRATIVE
SURCHARGE FOR THE 2014 -2015 FISCAL YEAR
IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
CITY OF POWAY AND MADERAS CC, L.P.,
FOR IRRIGATION WATER
WHEREAS, Section 13.11.120 (C) (1) of the Poway Municipal Codes states that the
rate for raw water will be the raw water cost from the San Diego County Water Authority
(CWA), associated fixed charges, and a City surcharge as established by separate
agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway ( "City ") has an agreement ( "Agreement ") to provide
raw water to the Maderas CC, L.P.; and
WHEREAS, Section 9. Water Rate and Usage Charge of the Agreement states that
the City shall set annually an administrative surcharge to recover the City's operating,
maintenance, repair, administrative overhead, and other costs associated with the City's
water system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
that the administrative surcharge shall be calculated per acre /foot in the following manner
for the 2014 -2015 Fiscal Year:
Customer Services /Utility Systems — Water Fund Allocation $492,241.00
Water Fund Allocation (per 11,220 Acre Feet estimate) $ 43.87
Overhead rate of 12% + $ 5.26
Total Raw Water Surcharge /Acre Foot $ 49.13
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at
a regular meeting this 18th day of November 2014.
