AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING SECTION 10.32.010 OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE TO SET SPEED
LIMITS ON KIRKHAM ROAD AND KIRKHAM WAY
WHEREAS, Sections 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code permit an increase
or decrease in local speed limits upon the completion and :iation of an engineering
and traffic survey; and
WHEREAS, City of Poway engineering staff have completed an engineering and traffic
survey of Kirkham Road and Kirkham Way, which :is speed limits of 40 and 45 mph
for Kirkham Road and Kirkham Way, respectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 10.32.010 of the Poway Municipal Code, Designation of Speed
Limits, is hereby amended to add the following two items:
STREET MPH SEGMENT
Kirkham Road 40
From Kirkham Court to Community Road
_ Kirkham Way
45
From Community Road to Gateway Place
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be codified.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after
the date of its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall
be published once with the names of members voting for and against the same in the Poway
News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Poway.
Introduced and first read at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Poway
held the 3rd day of June, 2003, and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
said City Council held the 17th day of June, 2003, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: GOLDBY, HIGGINSON, REXFORD, CAFAGNA
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: EMERY
ABSTAIN: NONE
