RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO
NEIGHBORHOOD REINVESTMENT PROGRAM GRANT
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego Neighborhood Reinvestment Program
provides funding for County departments, public agencies, and non - profit community
organizations for one -time community, social, environmental, educational, cultural or
recreational needs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway is a Host Town for the 2015 Special Olympics
World Games; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway wants to file an application with the County of San
Diego for Neighborhood Reinvestment Program funding to cover the cost of a Host
Town event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
1. That the City of Poway is confirmed to be a public agency under the laws of
the State of California;
2. That City staff is authorized to file an application with the County of San Diego
for Neighborhood Reinvestment funding during the County's 2015 -2016 fiscal year;
3. That the City Manager or, in the absence of the City Manager, the Assistant
City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement with the County of San
Diego for Neighborhood Reinvestment Program funds for the 2015 -2016 fiscal year.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
at a regular meeting this 2nd day of June 2015.
